That push is not laziness. It is not weakness.
It is the part of you that says, this is who I am.
Identity Protects Itself
If you have always been the person who sleeps in, the body will try to pull you back to the bed. If you have always been the person who quits, your nervous system will search for an exit. If you have always been the one who breaks, the mind will start to whisper reasons to stop.
Not because you are broken. Because identity wants to survive.
Most self help fails because it tries to change behaviour without changing the story underneath it. You do not rise to the level of your goals. You fall to the level of the person you believe yourself to be, which is why discipline collapses when there is no structure beneath it, as explained in Walking the Path When It’s Hard.
Replacement, Not Force
